HS Centrifugal Barrel Finishing Machines. In 1961, Tipton developed the first High Energy Centrifugal Barrel and over forty years later we continue to move forward. Radiusing, deburring and polishing are achieved in a fraction of the time required by conventional methods. Four evenly-spaced barrels mounted on a high R.P.M., variable speed turret yield finishing forces up to 9 G's. Cycle times can be reduced by over 90%.

Centrifugal Barrel Finishing

Four barrels are mounted to a turret, the turret's main shaft and the barrel shafts are mounted on the same pulley generating a planetary motion. As the pulley rotates the turret the barrels remain in their original position generating the centrifugal force within the barrel. A strong pressure is created in the barrel, up to 9 G's of force which makes centrifugal barrel finishing the most aggressive system available.
